Candidates start to line up.

Whilst only a relative new party this seems not to stop people from wanting to stand for them. The Wigan Independent Conservatives now have people wanting to stand for the Orrell, Standish with Langtree, Winstanley and Beech Hill Wards. Even people now want to help the leader of the Party, Cllr Gareth Fairhurst, to get re elected next year and want to stand the following year.

It now seems apparent that this party is growing from strength to strength.

Why not get involved. You might not want to stand for office but just help or put up a poster etc. No matter how small you want to help the more the better.

The main parties have had their time it is time for the people of Wigan to take control.

Junction need looking at.

Many drivers will know that more roads are needed to be built. Standish, Shevington, Orrell and Wigan all suffer because drivers cannot get where they want to be. Drivers going to Wigan coming from the North come of at Junction 27 and travel through Standish and Shevington. The roads cannot cope. The same can be said coming from the south and theycome off at junction 26 and travel through Orrell and Pemberton.

One major road that needs to be look at is either a new junction between Junction 27 and Junction 26. This could run behind Heinz factory and come out at Martland Mill. This would ease lorry's of local roads and get them to the industrial units quicker. It would also benefit the football and rugby teams as the supporters will come off there too and again ease local roads including Saddle Junction.

Also a major headache is coming of the Junction south bound on the M6 to go onto the M58. There is often miles of queues for this and if a new junction is made a sweeping slip road could be made too to run straight from the M6 to the M58. Again easing roads.

All this investment would bring more business into Wigan and help and it would help the environment as cars and lorry's would not be sitting there with their cars in idle gear.

We have refer this to the Council and will continue to fight for this as the benefits to Wigan are massive.

The Wigan Independent Conservatives have four Councillors on Wigan Council. There is the leader of the Party, Cllr Gareth Fairhurst, who represents Wigan Central, Cllr George Fairhurst, who represents Standish with Langtree Ward and finally Councillor Angela Bland and Councillor Debbie Fairhurst who both represents Shevington with Lower Ground Ward.

Party Goes All Blogged Out!

Welcome to the Wigan Independent Conservatives. We are a political Party in Wigan. We were members of the Conservative Party but felt the this was not the best for the people of Wigan. Political parties do not work for the people but they work for themselves. Given all the press about the politicians with expenses etc.

So we decided to leave and make sure the people of Wigan come first. So after many months we decided to start the political party called the Wigan Independent Conservatives. So what does this mean? We still have our conservatives beliefs but are independent of the national party, which quite frankly does not care about Wigan as they will never have a Conservative MP here, other wise we would see David Cameron and / or the other big wigs of the party. But they never come as they do not care about Wigan.
